BACKGROUND

“As an Equity actor I’ve traveled in professional tours of musicals and dramatic plays from coast to coast, including the south and southwest. As an actor-musician I performed in a yearlong run of “Pump Boys and Dinettes” at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
I’ve played keyboards and other instruments in numerous musicals, and have often provided musical assistance and direction for many shows.

As a Christian artist my ministry is to spread the Gospel through writing works that embody the essence of Christ’s sacrificial life, and then, share that art with others.

From the time I was a teen I’d always wanted to write a musical that would challenge and impact the world.

The question was what story could I tell that would most reflect the life of Christ? When I first read a biography on Joan of Arc I KNEW I had found my story. I chose her because she embodies the meaning of the life of Christ and the good news of the Gospel.

Her life reflects the reality of the human condition; it is something from history, something gritty but inspirational, something dealing with the hard realities of life, something infinitely real and dynamic.

Indeed, Joan’s path closely reflected Christ’s path in that she mirrored His own servant-hood when she laid down her life for her friends – in her case an entire country!

My goal was to take Joan’s powerful story and write a musical that provides the stuff of great drama; energetic and intellectually engaging dialog and inspirationally uplifting musical moments crafted together into lyrics and melodies of memorable song.”

BACKGROUND

“My high school education at Bishop Noll Institute prepared me to enter Ball State Teachers college with the goal of graduating and then, teaching Drama, Speech, and English at the High School level. After earning my BA, I stayed at Ball State to complete my Masters in Speech and Mass Communication and then, for the next 10 years I taught Speech and Drama at Muncie Southside High School.

While at Noll, I was inspired to focus on Theatre Arts by Drama Director, Sister Miriam Edward, who coached me to develop my stage and vocal talents. As a result, my theatrical resume includes acting in over 50 drama/musical plays on both amateur and semi-professional stages. In addition, I’ve directed over 50 high school, community and college plays in Muncie, Anderson, New Castle, and Hammond, Indiana.

I am a semi-professional American Folk singer and have performed in night clubs across America.

My ministry is in music and voice and I regularly serve as a Cantor at St. James the Less in Highland.”
